In this post, I share my favourite wellness products for June.

It’s crazy how fast this year is going; I can’t believe we’re already in the second half of the year already. I thought I’d take the opportunity to share some of my wellness favourites for June.

My favourites this month span the beauty, fitness and wellness scene. Without further ado, let’s get into them.

Thrive – Raw Green Superfood for Her

According to Vivo Life, Thrive Her is a “100% plant-based blend of greens, fruits, vitamins, minerals and probiotics to support optimal female health”. Unlike most green superfood powders, this one is yum! I’ve only tried the wild berry flavour, but you can get it unflavoured or in the pineapple and lemongrass flavour.

Th wild berry flavour is delicious. It contains stevia, so if you choose to put it in your smoothie recipes, you don’t need to add extra sweeteners. The fantastic thing about this is that you can have it just mixed with water! I’ve never been able to do that with other green superfoods blends; they leave me gagging.

I love this superfood powder so much because it supplies B12, zinc and a whole load of other nutrients that are sometimes difficult to get on a plant-based vegan diet if you’re not making good choices regularly. It also supplies probiotics, which as you know by now is critical for gut health.

It is a bit pricey at £39.99 per pack (30-day supply), but as an all-in-one supplement, I think it is worth the price tag.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm (Sweet Violet)

When you’re a complete makeup novice like me, you celebrate the small wins, haha! I never really learned to wear makeup. I completely missed that train in my teens and did not attempt to get back on it in my twenties. Now in my thirties, I’ve made peace with the fact that I’ll probably never really be into makeup. At least not applying it as heavily as I see most people do.

I am a big fan of the no makeup, makeup look, but only when it involves four products at a maximum. I think I look very weird with bright lipsticks. You will never catch me wearing pink or red lipstick because as soon as I apply it, it comes straight off. However, this tinted lip balm is a game changer.

It keeps my lips soft (formulated with shea butter and other botanical waxes) and gives them a very sheer pink colour.  I never feel self-conscious when I have this on, and at the same time I feel very feminine and made up.

It comes in around six different shades, but this sweet violet is my favourite. I have the red dahlia which I don’t like as much. I plan to get it in pink blossom (sheer pretty pink) and zinnia (neutral) to complete my ‘makeup’ collection.

Unfortunately, this product is not vegan as it contains beeswax in it. But, until I find a vegan alternative that I like, I won’t be giving this up anytime soon. A 4.25g tube of this lip balm costs £5.99, and it lasts forever.

Sukin Oil Balancing Mattifying Facial Moisturiser

If you’ve had oily skin all your life and have tried every drugstore product as well as premium products and have still not sorted out your oily skin issues, I’m sure you’ll understand my joy when I tell you that after almost 20 years of searching, I’ve finally found it!

I cannot rave about this moisturiser or in fact the whole oil balancing range from Sukin enough. Until now, I’ve never been able to a product that moisturises my skin and keeps it matte throughout the day, literally 24/7. Nor have I been able to find a product that works longer than a week before I’m back to square one.

I’ve come to find that my skin loves products with charcoal as the main ingredient. And that makes sense for oily skin because charcoal is known to draw out toxins and impurities from the skin. This product also contains a range of skin-balancing/calming oils like pomegranate and lavender oils.

This product ticks all the right boxes. It is very light, my skin does not feel greasy or oily after applying it, it doesn’t have a heavy fragrance (almost non-existent), and it is inexpensive costing £7.99-£9.99 per 125ml (4.23fl. oz) depending on where you purchase it.

Joel Freeman’s B4LIIFT 4

I completed 80 Day obsession in April, and while it was terrific, I haven’t been able to finish another round of it because the thought of working out for one hour, six days in this summer heat is frightening.

When I saw the commercial for LIIFT4, I knew my (and many other people’s) dream programme was finally here. Only four days a week, for 30 mins a day? Who could say no to that? No one I hope.

The official programme does not launch until July 16, but in the interim, we’ve been getting ready with B4LIIFT4. This is a shorter, 20-minute version of the main programme. It has a similar structure to the main programme and involves weight training (LIFT), high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and a core component. So in 20 minutes, you cover all bases, and you’re sweating buckets by the end of it.

The key to getting the most of out of this workouts is to ensure that you’re using challenging weights and during the HIIT sessions, you’re pushing hard. I have to admit that after four weeks of doing the same workouts, I’m bored. I’m so pumped about the fact that the main programme will constitute 32 different exercises for the duration of the eight weeks. There will be no time to get bored, just time to get to work hard and get the results.

Have I said how excited I am yet? If not, I’m super excited!

I hope you enjoyed this post, see you in July for the next edition.

Somi, x
